WordPres 101 and a half

This is the second and a series of posts I’ll be adding that encompass setting up a WordPress blog. My first attempt at setting up my own went pretty well. I was able to quickly identify the areas I needed to update in order for my blog to match my website. So that I could see each element in action, I used the “Default” theme that came with WordPress, and then modified the templates and stylesheets to match my website. I’m not using “pages” within WordPress, although I could.

My second attempt at a fully styled WordPress blog was “TheVent” @ timmpowell.com. I created this blog from scratch, copying code from the original templates as needed. You can see it in action here. This site is contained solely within WordPress and uses “pages” for static information. I also created a contact form using the pages templates.

Finally, I’ve created 4 themes that I’ll be setting up within WordPress for anyone to use. You can see the initial designs on my website, or you can click here.

On my mark, get set….go!!
